Gold Open Access Policy
The Saint’s International Dental Journal (SIDJ), published by the Society of Dental Research & Education (SDRE), is committed to advancing dental science through the principles of Gold Open Access. This policy ensures immediate, permanent, and free access to all published scholarly content while maintaining high standards of quality and ethical publishing.
1. Overview of Gold Open Access
Gold Open Access means that peer-reviewed articles are made freely available online immediately upon publication, without subscription barriers.
- Articles are published under an open license allowing reuse with proper attribution.
- Funding is supported through Article Processing Charges (APCs).
- All accepted manuscripts are published under the Gold Open Access model.
2. Scope & Eligibility
- Applies to research articles, reviews, case reports, editorials, and other scholarly work.
- Submissions must meet originality and ethical standards (ICMJE & COPE compliance).
- Human or animal research requires documented ethical approval.
- Hybrid options may be available; primary model is fully Gold Open Access.
3. Article Processing Charges (APCs)
Standard APC: USD 65 or INR 5825/- (charged upon acceptance).
- APCs cover peer review, editing, hosting, production, and archiving.
- Editorial decisions are completely independent of APC payment.
- Payments accepted via bank transfer, credit card, or institutional agreements.
Waivers & Discounts
- Full waivers for authors from low- and middle-income countries.
- Partial discounts (up to 50%) for eligible authors or partner institutions.
- Applications must be submitted during manuscript upload.
Refund Policy: APCs are non-refundable after acceptance unless due to publisher error.
4. Licensing & Copyright
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license.
- Authors retain copyright of their work.
- The Publisher receives a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute.
- Proper attribution to authors and the Journal is required.
- Authors must secure permissions for third-party materials.
5. Publication Process
- All manuscripts undergo Double-Blind Peer Review.
- Accepted manuscripts are copyedited and formatted for online publication.
- DOIs are assigned to the Version of Record.
- No embargo period — immediate open access upon publication.
- Indexed and archived in repositories such as DOAJ.

The Journal reserves the right to update this policy to reflect evolving best practices. Continued submission implies acceptance of updates.
